    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
    Queer, femme performance-artist, Jody Kuehner aka Cherdonna Shinatra, seeks connection with audiences as she works towards the most ambitious show of her career. As she looks towards the future, not only does the global pandemic strip away her livelihood, the personal becomes even more political and challenges her to reclaim herself and her art in a way she never expected.

    SYNOPSIS
    WORTH MY SALT, a short documentary, spans five years and weaves between the past and post-COVID world. We are introduced to queer, femme performance artist, Jody Kuehner through her alter ego, Cherdonna Shinatra. Illuminated by her unabashed use of comedy, spectacle and color, her work and the alter-ego she inhabits allow her to push personal and political boundaries. Being in community with audiences is how she finds connection and, it’s ultimately this creative space and embodiment of Cherdonna that serves as the story’s setting. The film begins with Cherdonna; a persona certain of questioning the world around her, but ends with Jody, the artist, who ultimately finds belonging to self through her alter ego in a world forever transformed by a global pandemic.
