    With Love, Ann
    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
Against the backdrop of increasing global polarization and tumult, WITH LOVE, ANN celebrates an educator who transformed grief into purpose and her classroom into a catalyst for compassion and curiosity.

    SYNOPSIS
WITH LOVE, ANN is a documentary film that makes the case for internationalism, education, and cross-cultural connection as essential forces for good in an increasingly divided world. Through the life and reflections of Ann Zwicker Kerr, we explore how a deep commitment to learning about others—through scholarship, dialogue, and lived experience—can foster resilience, empathy, and hope.

At 90, Ann is a living testament to the transformative power of global education. A champion of cultural exchange, she has spent her life building bridges between the United States and the Middle East—teaching at UCLA, mentoring Fulbright scholars, and serving as a trusted leader across institutions like the American University of Beirut and the American University of Kuwait. Her impact is felt in the lives of countless students, colleagues, and family members across the globe.

Born in Los Angeles, Ann boarded a ship to Beirut at age 20 for a study abroad program that changed her life. There, she met her husband, Malcolm Kerr, and formed a lifelong bond with the region. After Malcolm’s assassination in Beirut in 1984, Ann deepened her dedication to fostering mutual understanding—not retreating from the Middle East, but leaning in.

Now in her tenth decade, Ann continues to teach, write, host Fulbright gatherings, and inspire a new generation of global citizens. Told through vérité footage, archival materials, and intimate reflection, With Love, Ann is both a poetic portrait and a timely call to action. As headlines threaten to close minds and borders, Ann reminds us—through a life of learning and love—that the path to peace begins with curiosity and connection.
