SYNOPSIS
UNCONQUERED: GORAŽDE, CITY OF HEROES is the story of the unquenchable power of the human spirit, offering crucial lessons and hope. It tells the story of how a town withstood a three-and-a-half year siege during the Bosnian War, giving Ukrainians inspiration to survive Putinrsquo;s attempts to obliterate their cities today.
Authored by an award-winning filmmaker and expert on Bosnia, and using unique access to eye witness accounts, personal diaries and newly unclassified government documents, UNCONQUERED offers us all inspiration by showing how a handful of heroic individuals risked everything to save thousands of lives from genocide during the Bosnian war.
The film illuminates the complex and delicate nature of international diplomacy, while honing in on what individuals do to survive when pushed to the very edge of existence. It will lay bare the life and death decision making process from Presidents and Prime Ministers, often made thousands of miles away from those it will impact on.
This is both the story of individual survival against the odds as well as a defining moment at the end of the 20th century that tested and ultimately defined NATO as it struggled to find a role in the post Cold War era, with lessons for NATO and the U.N. today.
