SYNOPSIS
THE RESCUE LIST is an intimate observational documentary that follows two children who are rescued from modern slavery on Lake Volta in Ghana. Tracking their lives over the course of a year as the children prepare to return home, the film reveals the extraordinary bonds of friendship that they formed on the lake. It also draws into focus the complex circumstances under which children are trafficked and the challenges of recovery and reunification.
This tender, tensely wrought film places the children at the center of the narrative, enabling the audience to connect with their experiences and glean context as the story unfolds.
