    The Lemurian Candidate
    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
Three friends reunite for a backpacking trip on Mt. Shasta, but when one introduces hallucinogens into the mix, their weekend descends into psychedelic madness and a quest for alien contact.

    SYNOPSIS
Three college friends, Tom, Stan, and Jesse, have drifted apart in the decade since their graduation. Now adults, Tom flounders in a stagnant job and a recent breakup, Stan is a newly married and successful venture capitalist, and Jesse has moved back in with his mother after years of wandering.

When Jesse’s mother reaches out for help with her son’s declining mental state, Tom and Stan take Jesse on a backpacking weekend to Mt. Shasta, hoping to restore their bond and get Jesse on his meds.

Unknowing of their ulterior motives, Jesse has his own secret plan to find the ancient Lemurians, an otherworldly race of beings who live beneath the mountain. Their trip takes an even stranger turn when Jesse introduces a bag of psychedelics into the equation, convincing his friends to partake for old times’ sake. Youthful nostalgic fun quickly turns into hallucinations and madness.

The journey becomes a test of friendship and personal beliefs as Jesse’s obsession with the Lemurians reaches a critical point, blurring the lines between reality and delusion. Tom and Stan must navigate the chaos to bring Jesse back to reality before they are all consumed by his quest for the unknown.
