ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOGLINE
SUBJECT MATTER builds a bridge between inspiring storytelling and creating meaningful change by providing funds to compelling documentary films that highlight social issues and matching grants to organizations tackling the featured topics.

SYNOPSIS
SUBJECT MATTER’s flagship fund supports domestic social issue documentaries with filmmaking teams that have an inherent connection to their subject matter.

They award grants to films nearing completion that are in need of marketing, publicity, and festival travel support.

Once the film premieres, they award a matching grant to a small to mid-size nonprofit that is tackling the social issues featured in the film.

They will be accepting nominations for our 2022 grant cycle later this spring.
