    LOGLINE
    A jaded film professor and his sole remaining student trade places, one scene at a time.

    SYNOPSIS
    SPECIAL TOPICS is a feature film about Ram, a jaded film professor whose last remaining student, Eddie, gradually takes over his creative life. What begins as an awkward independent study escalates into something stranger and more unsettling: a role reversal that forces Ram to confront the gap between the version of himself he’s performed for years and the truth he’s carefully hidden.

    SPECIAL TOPICS explores questions of authorship and the loss of narrative control: what it means when someone else tells your story more honestly than you ever could. It arrives at a cultural moment when questions of attribution, image-making, and artificial self-presentation feel urgent as ever.

    The film is directed by Prashanth Kamalakanthan and Jim Bulluck. Working with producer Artemis Shaw, the team has a collaborative history of building micro-budget narrative features from the ground up using minimal crew, consumer-grade and emerging imaging technologies, and improvisational performances.
