A young girl sets out to find her “one in a million” horse that she would deeply connect with but things go dangerously wrong. Enter the SOUL HORSE.
SYNOPSIS
In every equestrian’s life, there are horses: those they love, those they know deeply, those they learn from, and those who learn from them. And then, there is the singular “SOUL HORSE.”
The SOUL HORSE does not merely enter a life; it transforms it.
It becomes a mirror, reflecting both a human’s deepest shadows and their truest light.
It reveals who they are—and whispers of who they might become.
Ultimately, the question it poses is simple: "Are you ready to see?”
Chasing a fantasy, people buy horses to carry their own emotional baggage, insensitive that the animal is a powerful force dealing with its own trauma.
This conflict ripples far beyond individuals. Driven by viral images of celebrated figures—even Olympians abusing horses—society is questioning the very boundaries of animal welfare. We are caught in a collective cognitive dissonance. The "social license to operate" now hangs in the balance, challenging the justification for riding at all.
Like the spiritual concept of the SOUL HORSE itself, this film mirrors our current cultural awakening.
SOUL HORSE is a cinematic journey down the long road to trust.
The film follow’s the young girl as she brings her horse to Connie Colfox, a positive-reinforcement trainer in Dorset, UK.
Connie’s philosophy is a quiet revolution:"We do not ask horses to cope. We show them how to feel safe.We do not force compliance. We build confidence. We do not steal their power. We share it. And in that space, the horse grows."
Woven together with insights from scientists, veterinarians, and visionary coaches, the film pursues a singular, guiding question: What new wisdom can we unearth as we evolve into a more connected, compassionate, and humane way of walking alongside the animal kingdom?
