LOGLINE
A young mother from Arkansas is forced to travel across state lines in search of an urgent and necessary abortion.

SYNOPSIS
Rachel (Brittany Snow) is a single parent who’s living from paycheck to paycheck and dealing with issues of childcare (or the lack thereof) as well as the tiring grind that constitutes her daily life. When an unexpected pregnancy threatens to unravel her already precarious position, Rachel is forced to get on the road with her young daughter, Maddy (Juliet Donenfeld), in tow. As they travel to Illinois in search of a medical procedure that’s currently illegal in Arkansas, Rachel attempts to make this arduous journey into a fun road trip. Amidst the excitement of traveling to a different state for the first time in their lives, Rachel is forced to contemplate the series of events and obstacles placed in her way that necessitated this journey as we come to learn an even more heartbreaking truth and a dark secret that means her life will never be the same again.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE is grounded in telling a very characterful and human story. The film raises issues surrounding reproductive rights, and access to necessary healthcare. It details the obstacles faced by people and the lengths they are forced to go to in order to ensure they receive the care they need. The film highlights the current political climate that we find ourselves in—enjoying certain freedoms of a democratic country while simultaneously watching the slow winding back of certain fundamental human rights—as it relates to reproductive rights that primarily affects women; our right to choose and to have autonomy over our own bodies; as well as the right tobasic and essential health care.
