    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
The Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead and her merry band of activists battle misogyny with comedy over six years on the frontlines of the escalating war over Roe v. Wade.

    SYNOPSIS
Abortion-positive political-satire documentary NO ONE ASKED YOU You follows Lizz Winstead and her team of feminist comics and activists, Abortion Access Front, over six years leading up to the overturn of Roe V. Wade. In 2017, Lizz and her team embark on The Vagical Mystery Tour: a “Habitat for Humanity meets USO tour” across reproductive rights battleground states performing stand-up, supporting clinic workers, and centering abortion as an essential human right. Along the way, AAF supports providers like Dr. LeRoy Carhart, one of the last 3 doctors providing late-term care in the country, and Renee Chelian, whose teen pre-Roe abortion experience led to a lifelong commitment to protecting abortion access.

From protesting as glittery vulvas to exposing Crisis Pregnancy Centers’ misinformation, AAF offers a clear path to advocacy for abortion rights and our bodily autonomy. With Lizz as our guide, ping-ponging across the Midwest and the South, we land in Mississippi, where Pink House clinic escorts Kim and Derenda welcome us to ground zero. They battle anti-abortion extremists and shepherd patients into the last clinic in the state—the clinic at the center of the case that overturns Roe. Conservative politicians chip away at reproductive rights, state by state, and America experiences a battle for abortion not seen since the 1970s.

A newly conservative leaning SCOTUS is set to overturn Roe v. Wade, and most media have only begun to tell the story that Lizz and AAF have been sounding the alarm on for years: taking away abortion access will disproportionately affect low-income individuals, families, and people of color. Cathartic in its humor and activating in its approach, NO ONE ASKED YOU is not your typical abortion movie. Intersectional and unapologetically audacious, this film is a restorative call to action, illuminating that as patriarchy burns down, there will be laughter.
