ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOGLINE
Lonely Antoinette thinks she’s been saved from misery when her favorite Hollywood personality, Blake de Troy, a professional guest-star desperate for a comeback, crashes in the Florida swamps near her home. But don’t meet (or kidnap) your idols.

SYNOPSIS
They say, “Don’t meet your idols.” They usually disappoint and don’t live up to the impossible image we imagine for them.

Florida outcast, Antoinette Funk, learns this the hard way. She finds herself responsible for the care and rehabilitation of her favorite game show personality, Blake de Troy.

Past his prime, he’s now down in the dumps as a faded Hollywood star. After convincing himself he’s been kidnapped by Antoinette, Blake tries to escape, only to realize he has nowhere to go. His partner (and micro-manager) Jimmy has just died, and the world has long moved on from his celebrity. His #1 fan, Antoinette, seems to be the only one left to care about him (in her own little creepy way).

On the surface, LOVES COMPANY is an over-the-top comedy and a parody of a few other films about unstable, lonely people. But as Antoinette and Blake learn to navigate each other in a tense situation, they form a unique bond. These two different walks-of-life find common ground.

There is so much noise out there that can divide and wall us off from one another, especially nowadays. It‘s easy to forget that we are all spinning around the universe together. As such, Antoinette and Blake discover a need for one another, once fears subside and misunderstandings are worked out.
