LOGLINE
Lady Like is a docu-fiction film that follows the story of Rex Wheeler and his drag persona, Lady Camden, as they work together to save Rex’s inner child who is lonely and broken after a troubled and traumatic childhood.

SYNOPSIS
LADY LIKE is an hero origin story about Lady Camden, but underlying the broader arc of becoming famous on Drag Race, Lady Like investigates the tragedy and trauma that compels Rex Wheeler to create fantasy and joy. It is not only his calling but a necessity that he be Lady Camden.

As we follow the non-fiction journey of Rex going from an unknown local drag queen to an international celebrity we will also follow a parallel fantasy story of Lady Camden being born out of a glittery dumpster explosion and her quest to find her way back home with the help of a young boy named Rory. We explore the trauma of childhood bullying and the tragedy of Rex losing his brother to suicide as a young boy. Then we will see how Rex uses fantasy and joy to create hope and healing for himself and others.

Both narratives collide in a climax in which Lady Camden rescues Rory from a group of middle school bullies and whisks him away to roller skate into the cloud of G-A-Y Heaven. Rex finally rescues his inner child.
