    I See You Everywhere
    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
Three friends on a bachelorette weekend in upstate New York are drawn into a microcosm of American hysteria when the bride-to-be is mistaken for a fringe internet celebrity, @justjane, a prototypical info-wars-era internet troll/influencer.

    SYNOPSIS
I SEE YOU EVERYWHERE Is a short film springboard for a feature film —a pitch black comedic thriller about culture clash, mistaken identity, & American hysteria.

Wildly, the film is based on a real event: A year ago, the director’s uncle Jordan was accosted while on vacation by a man who thought Jordan was right wing celebrity Jordan Peterson (he was not).

The film aims to map bring to life the horror and humor of this incident—reflecting the bizarro world of modern American culture, the blurred line between the internet and the real world, and the ways in which citizens find themselves caught in culture clash in the minutia of their daily lives.

Case in point: my local swimming hole. This has become a magnet for cultural fault lines, as local police have begun patrolling at the request of largely conservative local business owners. These Trumpers are at odds with some of the more liberal home owners along the river—but they also come into conflict with hoards of bougie city-dwellers up for vacation on the weekends. Like the events in the film, this plays out against the idyllic pastoral landscape of upstate New York. The inescapable nature of these conflicts, the desire to sit on the side-lines, and the impossibility of such impassivity is at the heart of the story.
