    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
At a teen helpline, a counselor reeling from a recent betrayal connects with a suicidal caller, only to uncover a shocking truth that forces her to confront her deepest vulnerabilities and redefine her own path to healing. The film unfolds in real time.

    SYNOPSIS
Jess is happiest when drawing portraits of strangers and volunteering as a counselor at the local teen helpline. Recently the target of sextortion, and the object of humiliation, she hopes that a night answering calls and helping others with their despair will offer relief from her own.

Jess takes a call from Ethan, a bullied teen who uses a dark sense of humor in his struggles against depression. While Ethan is initially dubious that a stranger could actually care about him, Jess’s unrelenting empathy slowly chips away at his skepticism and inspires Ethan to question his intent to die. But, when a secret is unintentionally spilled, Jess’s desire to keep Ethan safe collides with her need to protect herself.
