SYNOPSIS
GLOBAL GAY is a contemporary saga, which chronicles the battle for the decriminalization of homosexuality worldwide through the lives and work of some of its fearless pioneers.

Millions of men and women throughout the world are condemned to live clandestinely because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Out of 196 United Nations Member States, there are seven where homosexuality is still punishable by death. In 84 others, it can merit prison and physical punishment. After years of diplomatic struggle, human rights organizations, world leaders, policy makers and anonymous activists are pushing for a UN resolution in 2013 that would decriminalize homosexuality worldwide. Global Gay invites us on a historical journey across five continents to follow the active participants behind one of the defining issues of our times. In the words of UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, “The time has come.”
