    From Hope To Home
    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
In ‘forever homes’, everything is possible. FROM HOPE TO HOME explores the housing crisis through several astounding success stories of people in Los Angeles who were once unhoused, but aren’t any longer. This feature length documentary also shows the new challenges that they must boldly navigate and exposes homelessness for what it is, a chapter—not an identity.

    SYNOPSIS

Living in and around Los Angeles, we find individuals who have experienced homelessness and housing insecurity who, when we hear their stories, are everyday superheroes. Through sheer grit and the support of helping organizations and caring individuals, they not only mend connections with loved ones, but also build lives of purpose and hope.

    • A housing advisor who once had no home.
    • A food bank CEO who feeds a community that once fed her.
    • A rehabilitated meth-addicted foster child matures, becoming the mother she never had.
    • A corporate president who traded alcohol shots for God-shots.
    • veteran who discovers himself by sharing his story on stage...

Though society-imposed stigmas might have crushed them, these mothers, fathers, singles, veterans, and young adults have broken through the tangles of abuse, addiction, and trauma. Even so, past memories and current challenges continue to lurk in the shadows. Stepping into their own vulnerability, these brave individuals expose the knots and struggles of life on the street, in shelters, on couches, in cars, and elsewhere as well as the raw realities of remaining in a home.
