    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
    The Frankly Speaking Circle is where donors, artists, and activists unite to incubate films and build community around one shared mission: To ensure that our community is valued as essential in the fabric of humanity, so we cannot be erased or legislated away.

    SYNOPSIS

    Why Now: Queer people remain under attack. In 2025 alone, more than 616 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced across 47 states—many designed to erase our existence. Books written by and about queer people are being banned at unprecedented rates. Those who seek to silence us know exactly what they’re doing: they fear the power of our stories.

    How We Change Culture: Independent film financing and the way we measure ROI is broken. Our model considers social change as a key factor in our return on investment, proving that measurable impact toward shifting culture, rather than just financial gain, defines true success in storytelling.

    Over the next decade, with your support, we will:

    • Incubate 30+ new projects that redefine representation
    • Expand partnerships that drive positive social change
    • Collaborate with impact teams to bridge divides
    • Elevate queer women and nonbinary filmmakers
    • Support underrepresented voices that shift culture
