    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
A struggling and insecure actor finds himself at a gay men’s clothing-optional resort in Palm Springs for his best friend’s goodbye party, where he clashes with the friend’s Adonis coworker.

    SYNOPSIS
Dario is idling in his LA acting career and his life in general. When his best friend and life anchor Jamie announces he’s moving to London for a lucrative job opportunity, Dario’s world is fully upended. He’s thrust out of his comfort zone even more when the farewell party is held at a Palm Springs men’s nude resort! Dario’s obsession with conventional beauty and transactional relationships fails him hilariously in the resort’s inclusive, diverse crowd. A parade of bold, quirky personalities challenge his notions at every turn. Rather than look inward, Dario directs his frustration into a rivalry with the gorgeous muscle gay he fears is tearing Jamie away from him. Ultimately, Dario must confront his entire outlook on life if he hopes to find joy and fulfillment. Will he live life by his last resort, or his first?

FIRST RESORT is an ensemble comedy that celebrates the liberation of queer cultural spaces and then asks, "Where else can queer communities find freedom—and intimacy?" What could life look like if we felt free in our bodies? As industry divides people and technology commodifies them, Dario’s mistakes will uncover new layers in the meaning of Love. Joy is the best tool to clear the confused, jaded, and authoritarian atmosphere of today. Like a queer Trojan Horse, this buck-naked comedy takes deep questions to the audience’s heart.
