ABOUT THE PROJECT
LOGLINE
After being bullied at school, a pregnant teen's family sets out to move from the city to the countryside, unexpectedly revealing a coveted secret of her past that threatens the fresh start they seek. "Crybaby Bridge" explores the urban legend of a mother and child, but the sinister phenomenon may be more than just folklore.
SYNOPSIS
“The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” After intense bullying, Evelyn and Will Kane pull their pregnant, 16-year-old adopted daughter Samantha out of school and move across the state in the hopes of giving her a clean slate. They believe this is a healthy thing for their family. A new and hopeful beginning.
However, their motivations aren't as pure as we are initially led to believe. When Samantha finds this out, the bedrock of their family begins to crack; her sense of identity begins to crack. And as it does, normality slowly gives way to abnormality. Is it Samantha's mind that is caving in on her, or is there something more sinister at play? They ultimately find a deeper connection as a family. However, perhaps: it's too little, too late.
