    After India’s aviation authorities tell him he must detransition to fly, a young Muslim trans man pursues his pilot’s licence across three continents and sparks a movement that opens the sky for those who follow.

    SYNOPSIS
    Young Muslim trans man Adam Harry from Kerala, India, dreams of becoming a commercial pilot. After escaping family persecution, he secures a Kerala government scholarship and draws national and international media attention—but India’s aviation authorities tell him he must detransition in order to fly.??CHIRAKU follows Adam’s decade-long journey across India, South Africa, and Australia as shifting regulations, political resistance, and financial barriers repeatedly threaten to ground him. Supported by a small but growing global network, Adam refuses to abandon the sky. His fight helps transform India’s aviation system, opening doors for aspiring transgender pilots across the country. His resistance also inspires South African commercial pilot Kailer Smit to fight back when discrimination grounds him, showing how one person’s struggle can ignite change across borders.
