ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOGLINE
Inspired by a true story BONDED follows the journey of a teenager from Mexico whose dreams of becoming a soccer star are shattered when he's smuggled across the border and sold to a sweatshop making party dresses in downtown Los Angeles.

SYNOPSIS
BONDED immerses the viewer directly into the story which follows young Jesus’s journey from freedom in rural Mexico into the chains of slavery in America. The viewer is taken on an experience that feels first hand as the story unfolds from Jesus’s eyes. The camera’s perspective is low and constantly moving through the scenes where information is revealed to the audience as it’s experience by the lead character giving the viewer the feeling of being not only a witness but an active participant in the character’s horrific journey and ultimately unfulfilling rescue. The director and cinematographer have created a visual look that although is grounded in realism provides a dark and stylized version of reality exemplified by the slavehouse sweatshop which takes on the feeling of a living breathing organism.
