ABOUT THE PROJECT
LOGLINE

SYNOPSIS
A narrative feature-length film, AN ORDINARY DAY is based on a short story by the best-selling author, Lauren Groff, and will be directed by acclaimed theater director, Daniel Fish, whose award-winning revival of Oklahoma! continues to tour world-wide. The film stars Merritt Wever, winner of two prime time Emmy® awards.
Our goal is to have the narrative play out in as much suspense as possible, while maintaining a strong emotional underpinning, that has the audience in the grips of this story as it travels towards its harrowing finish. The story will play out in real time and we watch the events occur as the characters experience them. Occasionally, we will flash forward to the adult versions of the children portrayed in the main narrative to see how the events of the day has played a role in shaping their lives.
Once completed, we intend to take the film to various festivals to secure distribution and the producers and executive producers involved have had many films play in all the major festivals, including Sundance, Cannes and Toronto. In addition to crafting a compelling narrative, our hope is that the film will create greater awareness around the issue of domestic violence and society’s complicity in it. We will also teaming with organizations focused on this subject.
