ABOUT THE PROJECT
LOGLINE
While navigating day-to-day life as young people, four friends (Alex, Gregg, Ty, Keith) play a round of disc golf resulting in the loss of Gregg’s favorite disc. While Gregg may have lost his disc, his willingness to take a risk presents him the opportunity for a different reward; something he didn’t know he was looking for.
SYNOPSIS
Friends Gregg, Alex, Ty and Keith are in the middle of a round of disc golf when they arrive at the infamous hole number four. Because of its difficult layout, each one of them throws a standard throw called a hyzer, resulting in all of them hitting a tree. All except Gregg, who makes a choice to throw the risky anhyzer, landing his disc in the woods. Alex and Gregg search the woods against Keith’s advice and turn up empty.
Later that night, we find the gang at their local watering hole where they meet Shirley, Alex’s girlfriend, and Reagan, his sister. Gregg, still sad about his disc, encourages the gang to drink more than normal, causing everyone to get carried away. Everyone then wakes up disoriented, having done things the night before, some of which may seem questionable. Keith and Ty have an interesting experience with Bruce and Kristen (a blowup doll), leaving them with feelings of uncertainty about themselves and each other. Gregg, Alex and Shirley all wake up with poison Ivy from having gone to retrieve the disc in the woods. Reagan, who lives with them, wakes up to all the commotion and gives them some tough love. Shirley and Reagan drive Alex out of the house, and he goes to confront Gregg in an emotional exchange.
At the end of it, Gregg receives a text from someone named Sam, notifying him that his disc has been found. Gregg and Alex agree to go retrieve the disc and play a round in the meantime. They invite Keith and Ty, who need an excuse to remove themselves from the situation they have found themselves in. Upon arriving at the course, Alex and Gregg search for the mysterious stranger who has Gregg’s disc, only to find a beautiful woman named Sam. Ty and Keith arrive, and admit they have feelings for each other.
Sam challenges Gregg to disc golf, and proposes that the loser has to buy the other dinner. He accepts and they end up playing together. They arrive at hole four, and Sam surprisingly throws an anhyzer, indicating to Gregg that the two of them are kindred spirits and reaffirming that while he may not have intended to throw his disc in the woods, it was still the right choice because it led the two of them to each other.
