ABOUT THE FILM
LONG SYNOPSIS
Artist Jon Linton lost a friend and colleague to addiction and homelessness. To process what happened, Jon walked out into the world with his camera to open himself to the reality of what it is to be unhoused. He wandered into a human experience akin to Tolstoy walking out into his beloved Moscow in the late 1800s.
By observing the true social conditions of the culture around him, Jon found personal human rights virtually non-existent on the streets and sought to establish points of connection by simply asking, and then using, people’s names.
Purely through organic outflow and without an ounce of intent, Jon became an activist and advocate, finding donors, partners, and supporters along the way. Through the most improbable sets of circumstances, Jon was guided by the simple banner, “Let’s Be Better Humans.”
Even when Jon feels he has reached the point of true exhaustion, the wondrous connections he established fill him with gratitude, hope, and a deeply contemplative understanding of the potential for beauty we all hold within ourselves.
