    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
Satisfaction is a love story that breaks down gender stereotypes and constraints of the traditional sexual identity. A woman takes revenge against her partner as they attempt to escape "old sins" on a Greek island off-season.

    SYNOPSIS
SATISFACTION is a nuanced psychological drama following a tumultuous relationship of two British musicians - Lola and Philip. It weaves together two storylines - their trip to a Greek island off-season, and the start of their relationship two years prior in London.

As they experience the quiet stillness of the island, glimpses of their intimacy and interactions with strangers gradually unveil a palpable discomfort - they are dancing around an unspoken something, a topic carefully avoided. Lola is feeling disconnected from Philip and from herself and refuses to play the piano, but we don't know why.

Meanwhile two years prior in London, Lola, a rising star at the Music Conservatory plays piano at a house party which captivates Philip, a fellow composer, sparking an unexpected connection. However, Philip's discovery that she is in a relationship with another woman complicates the growing bond between them.

In present-day Greece, Philip's career ascends as he works on an album, while Lola spends all her days in bed. After witnessing a scene of domestic abuse at a neighbor's house, she travels to a beach to get away. There, a chance encounter with a captivating woman, Elena, stirs Lola. Later at a tavern, she sees Elena perform Zeibekiko, a dance of grief that touches Lola deeply. As time passes, and their mutual attraction is undeniable, Lola finds solace in Elena's company.

As Lola introduces Elena into her relationship with Philip, the film explores the intricate dynamic between love and power. Adding Elena to the equation unearths old wounds, intensifying the pain which finally causes it all to spill out.

SATISFACTION navigates the complexities of sexual identity and relationships, blending the past and present to craft a compelling narrative that explores our ability to hide away from uncomfortable truths, generational patterns and the transformative power of confronting one's trauma.

The Film Collaborative emails tax receipts in PDF format within 30 days of your online donation. The “receipt” that is immediately sent to you from PayPal after you donate is just a payment receipt, not the tax receipt.

    Matching Donations

Many companies have matching gift programs and can help you double your donation to a project of your choosing. Sometimes these programs will match a donation up to a year after it was originally made! Check with your employer—if they have a matching gift program, they will provide you with instructions.

    End of Year Giving

November, December, and January are big giving months each year. Donors top up their annual giving in November and December. January is a new fiscal year, and some donors start their giving for the next fiscal year early. Some donors even give at the end of the year and again in January since these donations fall into different fiscal years.

Donors tend to make their large year-end donation decisions before the holidays start. In 2024, that means before December 20. TFC can accept donations by wire, ACH, and Zelle until 5:00pm Eastern Time on December 31. Online donations by credit or debit card can be made until 11:59pm Pacific Time on December 31.
