The following consultation levels are for Feature films only. We do not usually consult on films under 45 minutes. Please contact us if you would like us to consider advising you on your Short film.
Distribution Consultation
Fee:
$200/hour
Includes:
- 1-hour phone conversation
- Follow up email with resources discussed on the call
Will we watch your film?
- We are happy to watch the film, prorated in tiers to correspond to the length of your cut, but we can also consult without watching the full film to keep costs down.
What topics can we cover?
- hybrid distribution (splitting rights, maximizing each window)
- potential distribution partners
- vendor recommendations (publicists, marketers, impact teammates)
- VOD and aggregation strategy
- grassroots and traditional marketing
- personalized guidance as to what the best path forward may be for your particular film and goals
- impressions of the film—can provide big picture notes on strengths/weaknesses of the content (if you are having us watch the film)
What types of films do we consult on at this tier?
We focus on American feature films both documentary and narrative. We are happy to work with genre films.
Please note: At this tier, we do not consult on international titles, shorts, or series. International titles are eligible for the other two consultation tiers, as well as TFC’s other programs and services.

Festival Strategy
Fee:
$800 flat
Includes:
- 4 hours of phone conversation, spread out over several weeks/months as your festival strategy crystallizes
- A strategic list of customized target festivals/contacts
Will we watch your film?
- We will view one cut of your film, up to 120 minutes
What topics can we cover?
- discuss and advise on options for world, international, country, and regional premieres
- create a target strategy list of up to 40 additional festivals that may be right for your film
- oversee submissions that the film team would actually execute
- advise on pitch language
- advise on fees vs. attendance when applicable
What types of films do we consult on at this tier?
We are a non-profit that focuses on feature films, documentary and narrative, both North American and International, especially those that have identifiable niches and issues (e.g. human rights, social justice, LGBTQ+, environmental, African American, Jewish, Asian American, Latinx).
Please Note: At this tier, we do not consult on commercial films, such as thriller or action films, that don't have crossover with our other expertise.
