“Community Conversations” Film Series — new touring program for 2019
The Film Collaborative is pleased to announce the Community Conversations Film Series, a touring program for filmmakers in response to the NEA published report "State of the Field: A Report from the Documentary Sustainability Summit.” This program is being supported by a $20,000 grant from the NEA. The series will bring filmmakers, local communities, colleges and universities together to view films from a selection of curated works and participate in facilitated group discussions.
The Film Collaborative will run the Community Conversations program with curation consulting provided by New Day Films. Projects by filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, cultures and political perspectives will be selected and the filmmakers will travel to schools and other program partners in Ohio, Wisconsin and Texas during the 2019-2020 school year.
