  Dear Programmers,

The Film Collaborative is proud to present three new docs now available for festivals and screenings.

Finally, fresh from a  glittery sold out premiere at Outfest Los Angeles last month, JEWEL’S CATCH ONE spotlights one of America’s oldest safe space for LGBT people of color.

ABOUT THE FILM:
Beitar Jerusalem Football Club is the most popular and controversial football team in Israel: it is the only club in the Premier League never to sign an Arab player. Midway through the 2012-13 season, a secretive transfer deal by the owner, Russian-Israeli oligarch Arcadi Gaydamak, brought two Muslim players from Chechnya. The deal inspired the most racist campaign in Israeli sport that sent the club spiraling out of control. One season in a life of this famed club is a story of Israeli society, personal identity, politics, money and a window into how racism is destroying a team and society from within.

ABOUT THE FILM:
EQUAL MEANS EQUAL is an unflinching look at how women are treated in the United States today. By following both real life stories and precedent setting legal cases, director Kamala Lopez discovers how outdated and discriminatory attitudes inform and influence seemingly disparate issues, from workplace matters to domestic violence, rape and sexual assault to the foster care system, the healthcare system and the legal system. Along the way, she reveals the inadequacy of present laws in place that claim to protect women, ultimately presenting a compelling and persuasive argument for the urgency of ratifying the Equal Rights amendment.
