Dear Esteemed Buyers and Friends,

Hoping your 2013 is starting out lucky and that all is well in your worlds.

We are handling Sales for A RIVER CHANGE COURSE, which premieres at Sundance this week, by Kalyanee Mam (Director of Photography for the Oscar-winning documentary Inside Job), who spent two years in her native homeland following three young Cambodians as they struggled to overcome the crushing effects of deforestation, overfishing, and overwhelming debt.

In addition, we wanted to give you a peak at SOLE SURVIROR, Ky Dicken’s new film about four people who possess the shared experience of being the lone survivor in an otherwise fatal plane crash. Eschewing sensationalism, the film offers a vehicle for understanding the experiences of all kinds of survivors, whether they be survivors of natural disaster, war, disease as well as accidents. It also chronicles the healing power when survivors meet victims from the same tragedy.

Screeners or links are available upon request.

On another note, we would like to congratulate The Invisible War, which continues to impress in 2013 with an Academy Award® nomination for Best Documentary Feature and the news that, thanks to the film, Congress will hold hearings on sexual abuse in military as soon as this month.

All the best,

Orly

Sole Survivor

ABOUT THE FILM:
SOLE SURVIVOR profiles four people who, through the vagaries of fate, were the only survivors of otherwise fatal plane crashes. Having suffered through not only the physical trauma of a deadly crash, but also the emotional impact of losing family members, these survivors have been reluctant to share their stories.

Eschewing sensationalism, SOLE SURVIVOR provides them with a sensitive platform to revisit their past and try to make sense of what it meant for them to survive when so many others lost their lives.

A River Changes Course

ABOUT THE FILM:
Twice a year in Cambodia, the Tonle Sap River changes course, while life for the Cambodian people continue to flow in a perpetual cycle of death and rebirth and of creation and destruction.

Working in an intimate, verité style, filmmaker Kalyanee Mam (Director of Photography for the Oscar-winning documentary Inside Job), spent two years in her native homeland following three young Cambodians as they struggled to overcome the crushing effects of deforestation, overfishing, and overwhelming debt.

A breathtaking and unprecedented journey from the remote, mountainous jungles and floating cities of the Cambodian countryside to the bustling garment factories of modern Phnom Penh, A RIVER CHANGES COURSE traces a devastating and beautiful story of an ancient culture ravaged by globalization.
