FIVE DANCES
New York City & Atlanta • Friday, Oct. 4
Director Alan Brown’s last film, Private Romeo, was a gay adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet set in a modern-day military school. His latest film, which opens this Friday, is a coming-of-age story set in the modern dance world. We’ve always been impressed with Alan’s ability to tell LGBT-themed stories in an exciting and original way. Read his recent article in the Huffington Post on being a gay filmmaker and check out his film, which has an open-ended run at Cinema Village. Alan and the cast will be doing Q&A’s following the 7:00 and 9:15 pm screenings on Fri.-Sun. Oct 4-6. It's also opening in Atlanta at the Plaza Theatre with more cities planned.

TRANS
Now on iTunes
TRANS outlines the struggles and triumphs of a remarkable cast of characters from all walks of life who are willing to tell their stories in the hope that they might one day be able to live ordinary lives. The film is timely, urgent and deserving of wide-audience appeal, and it has won a number of best documentary awards.
TFC has worked with TRANS for some time now on a very successful festival run. Despite the fact that it was apparently a little too “mainstream” for Frameline and Outfest, the film’s accessibility has actually proven to be advantageous: it is one of the reasons the filmmakers have been able to do extremely well up until now just by selling individual and educational DVDs off their website. They have 3K Facebook fans, who seem to be actively engaged when a new post gets put up. As of yesterday, they are adding iTunes to the mix, with Amazon Instant Video to come shortly. We wish them the best of luck…be sure to check this important film out!

TRAVELLING SALESMAN
Now on iTunes • GooglePlay
Congratulations to TRAVELLING SALESMAN for being the first title TFC Direct Digital Distribution has placed on Google Play through our flat-fee program. It’s also the first title we’ve introduced to VHX so they can sell their film off their website. Of course it is on iTunes as well. Amazon Instant Video to come shortly.
TRAVELLING SALESMAN is an intellectual thriller about four mathematicians hired by the U.S. government to solve the most elusive problem in computer science history — P vs. NP. The four have jointly created a "system" which could be the next major advancement for our civilization or destroy the fabric of humanity.
This is the little film that could! They (publically admitted) that they do not have much of a marketing budget, but have over 7K facebook fans and a really good built-in niche audience that they’ve been actively engaging. Bravo!
